Ashley Foley Travels: On the Blog

Hi, I’m Ashley, and welcome to my very first blog post.

I’ve spent years helping people plan vacations, but somehow sitting down to write my first blog feels a little more intimidating than planning a multi generational cruise vacation. But here we are, and I thought the best place to start would be with a simple introduction and the reason I love travel so much.

At the heart of it, travel for me has never been about checking destinations off a bucket list. It’s about making memories. I’m a mom to two daughters (Helena is 14 and Emilina is 12), I’ve been married to my husband Mark for 15 years. We have 2 tuxedo cats (Winifred Sanderson and Bo Katan). We have called Massachusetts home for most of my life but before that I grew up in Connecticut, then moved to Rhode Island for college. Go Hawks!

Some of my favorite memories with my family have happened while traveling. Whether we’re laughing our way through a theme park, watching the ocean from a cruise ship balcony, or discovering a new destination together, those moments have become some of our most treasured family stories.

If you know me, you know I absolutely love theme parks. There is just something magical about stepping through those gates and leaving the real world behind for a little while. I love the excitement, the immersive experiences, the food, the entertainment, and honestly, even the planning. There is nothing quite like seeing a destination come to life through the eyes of your family.

I also have a serious love for cruising. There is a feeling I get the moment I step onto a ship that is hard to explain unless you’ve experienced it yourself. The excitement, the anticipation, the promise of adventure, and knowing that for the next several days, your biggest decision might be whether to relax by the pool or grab another slice of pizza. It’s one of my favorite ways to travel and create memories together.

What started as a personal passion for planning our own family vacations eventually grew into helping others create those same unforgettable experiences. I discovered that I genuinely love researching destinations, finding hidden gems, planning itineraries, and helping people turn their travel dreams into reality.

I hope this blog becomes a place where I can share my love of travel, talk about destinations I’m passionate about, share tips I’ve learned along the way, and hopefully inspire someone to take the trip they’ve been dreaming about.
